Dr. Christine Schellin is a doctor of audiology who practices at Silver State Hearing and Balance in Reno, Nevada. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in speech pathology and audiology from the University of Nevada at Reno in 1999. She went on to receive a master’s degree in audiology from Western Washington University in 2001. She earned her doctorate in audiology from Salus University in 2008.
She began her career with the VA Sierra Nevada HeatlhCare System where she was a clinical audiologist for six years. After leaving this position, she moved forward with her goals to open her own practice and founded Silver State Hearing and Balance. Her goal is to build long term relationships with patients. This starts with the initial assessment visit and carries on in many ways, including ongoing counseling, periodic adjustments and regular hearing aid cleaning.
Dr. Schellin is certified by the American Board of Audiology, the Nevada State Board for Hearing Aid Specialists and the Nevada State Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speed Pathology. Additionally, she is licensed as a dispensing audiologist in the state of California.
Dr. Schellin takes pride in staying current in the latest research and development in hearing health and the hearing aid industry. She encourages the staff of Silver State Hearing and Balance to continually seek out professional development opportunities and she does the same herself. While she is educated and experienced in a wide range of areas, she is particularly interested in diagnostic audiology, vestibular testing, hearing aids and cochlear implants.
Hearing health is Dr. Schellin’s passion and she feels fortunate to have a career she enjoys so deeply. She is a valued and trusted member of the audiology community. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology. She was vice president of the Nevada Speech Language and Hearing Association from 2004 – 2006. Outside of the office, Christine enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children.
